The 7th session of the National Assembly is scheduled to begin on May 20 and run through to June 25, according to NA Office chairman Nguyen Dinh Dan.
Lawmakers are expected to pass 12 bills, two resolutions and give opinions on 10 other bills, Mr Dan told the current meeting of the NA Standing Committee in Hanoi on March 16.
They will spend one day and a half debating draft reports to be presented at the upcoming National Party Congress slated for January 2011.
Cabinet members will continue to be questioned about issues of voter concern. To improve the quality of the question time, the Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Legal Affairs, Le Thi Thu Ba, proposed that deputies send questions to the government who will then sort them out and select the right minister to prepare the answers.
At the upcoming session, a Government representative will present an overall master plan for Hanoi until 2030 and a vision for 2050, and a project to build an express railway line between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
