Hien said his visit aims to share experience in settling people’s petitions with relevant Lao agencies and hoped that the Laos National Assembly will support bilateral cooperation in the field.

For her part, Zathotou echoed Hien’s view, saying it is necessary to timely handle people’s complaints and denunciations in a lawful manner to protect their rights.

She voiced her support for cooperation in the ombudsman service between the two countries, and believed that Hien will have successful working sessions with the Laos National Assembly Committee for Legal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and Luang Prabang province.
