National Assembly may hold additional extraordinary sessions

VOV.VN - The naming of the "first extraordinary session" implies that the National Assembly (NA) could hold further sessions as it considers pressing and urgent issues or thematic law and ordinance building programme.

NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasised this in his opening address at the seventh session of the NA Standing Committee held on the morning of January 18 in Hanoi.

During the meeting, the committee is set to consider and give opinions on proposals relating to the draft revised Law on Emulation and Commendation. This is along with the NA’s draft resolution on piloting the model of labour organisation, career counseling, and vocational training for prisoners outside of prisons as part of the 2022 law and ordinance building programme.

With regard to socio-economic issues, the committee is set to discuss additions to the foreign capital investment plan from the unallocated capital, along with adjustments to the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021 to 2025 period.
Lawmakers will also consider the proposal to add the draft NA resolution piloting the model of labor organisation, vocational guidance, and vocational training for inmates outside prison to the law and ordinance making programme this year.

They will therefore consider and decide on the implementation of the jury’s trial attire, whilst also compiling a report on the NA’s hearing of people’s feedback in December last year and commenting on the various outcomes of the NA's first extraordinary sitting.
