In her meeting with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai municipal People’s Congress, Liu Yungeng, Phong spoke highly of the city’s socio-economic achievements, turning it into one of the major economic hubs in China as well as in the region and contributing to the country’s economic growth.

She hailed cooperation activities between Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City and asked Shanghai to continue assisting and sharing experience in urban planning, infrastructure construction for social welfare and economic development with HCM City and other cities of Vietnam.

During her visit to China, NA Vice Chairwoman Phong met with the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress, Wu Bangguo and Lu Yongxiang.

At these meetings, she briefed the Chinese officials on Vietnam’s socio-economic development and activities of the 13th National Assembly.

She stressed the importance of maintaining a stable Vietnam-China relationship on the basis of common perceptions of the two countries’ senior leaders, saying that this will benefit both nations, in their renewal process and socio-economic development, contributing to the stability in the region and the world.
