Vietnam attaches much importance to boosting multifaceted co-operation with Mozambique, a country it considers an important partner in Africa.

President Truong Tan Sang made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on March 13 for Mozambique’s outgoing Ambassador Antonio Incacio Junior before he ended his working term in Vietnam.

The President expressed his thanks to Mozambique for its support at multilateral forums and praised the ambassador's contributions to heightening relations in the past years.

He suggested that Mozambique create favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in the fields of telecommunications and agriculture to increase two-way trade turnover to US$1 billion.

In reply, Ambassador Inacio Junior informed the President about the progress of projects with Viettel Group and the Vietnam Rubber Group, affirming that Mozambique will always open doors for Vietnamese enterprises.

He considered the establishment of a Mozambican embassy in Vietnam as an important step in developing relations and expressed his hope that Vietnam will become a bridge between Mozambique and the Southeast Asian market.

On this occasion, Mr. Sang invited his Mozambican counterpart to visit Vietnam at his earliest convenience.
