Mr. Luu expressed his delight at Russia’s achievements in socio-economic development and the development of Vietnam-Russia strategic partnership. He said he hoped the cooperation between Vietnam’s NA and Russia’s Committee of the Federal Council will be further promoted.
Vietnamese people always respect and want to strengthen the comprehensive cooperation with Russia, he said.
Mr. Ilyas said he was happy to attend the AIPA-31 General Assembly and considered it a good chance for the delegation of the Russia’s Committee of the Federal Council to discuss the potential for multifaceted cooperation with Vietnamese agencies. He stressed that Russia always attaches great importance to developing cooperation with Asian-Pacific countries, especially Vietnam.
Cooperation between Vietnam and Russia in economics, trade, science and technology, culture, education, tourism has developed in recent years. Two-way trade turnover reached US$1.64 billion in 2008 and is expected to reach US$3 billion by the end of 2010.
On the same day, the Russian delegation worked with Vietnam’s NA Committee for Science, Technology and Environment; the Committee for Finance and Budget, and the Commitee for External Relations.
