During the three-day session, NA deputies will hear the Minister of Planning and Investment reporting on the implementation of socio-economic development tasks for 2008 and during the first months of 2009, the promulgation of Government bonds for 2009, the use of capital inflows to prevent economic downturn and the use of the State budget to ensure social welfare.

The Minister of Finance will report on the implementation of the State budget for 2008, the State budget’s estimates for 2009, the final accounts for 2007 and tax exemption, reduction and extension under the Law on Personal Income Tax.

The State Chief Auditor will report on the auditing and final accounts of the State budget for 2007 while the Director of the NA Committee for Finance and Budget will present the committee’ opinions on Government reports.

On the occasion, the NA Standing Committee will also consider increasing the jurisdiction of the People’s Courts at district-level as well as giving opinions on the draft law on supplements and amendments to a number of articles in the law on capital construction and investment, a project to improve financial mechanisms for the education and training sector in the 2008-2012 period, a project to assume the presidency of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), and preparations for the fifth session of the 12^th NA.

The NA Committee will also vote on a resolution on the establishment of a bureau in the central highlands and give opinions on personnel issues concerning the leadership of the NA Office and the NA People’s Aspiration Committee.
