NA President Tran Thanh Man’s China visit dominates local headlines

VOV.VN - Major Chinese media outlets have extensively covered National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man’s official visit to China, focusing on the strengthening of ties and the practical expansion of bilateral cooperation from high-level talks to side events.

On October 12, Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television (CCTV), People’s Daily, and Guangming Daily noted Premier Li Qiang’s meeting with NA President Tran Thanh Man at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Premier Li pointed out that under the strategic guidance of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and General Secretary of the Communist Part of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future has become increasingly practical and profound. Reaffirming the tradition of being "both comrades and brothers," he expressed China's readiness to work with Vietnam to promote traditional friendship, strengthen mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and contribute to regional and global stability and prosperity.

The Chinese Premier also indicated China's willingness to enhance the linking of development strategies, make effective use of mechanisms such as the Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, and steadily raise the quality and efficiency of cooperation in connectivity, artificial intelligence, clean energy, and the digital economy.

Covering the second meeting of the Cooperation Committee between Vietnam's National Assembly and the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China co-chaired by NA President Tran Thanh Man and NPC Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji on October 12, People’s Daily quoted Chairman Zhao as saying that both sides should consolidate mutual trust, maintain high-level exchanges, and firmly support each other. He stressed that the NPC stands ready to work with Vietnam’s National Assembly to implement the key consensus reached by top leaders of both parties and countries, utilizing legislative functions to better serve overall bilateral relations.

Earlier on October 11, Xinhua reported that Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), underlined during his meeting with NA President Tran Thanh Man that the CPPCC is ready to step up exchanges with Vietnam to support the modernization of both countries.

On October 12, the official WeChat account of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries featured NA President Tran Thanh Man's reception of a Chinese delegation led by Association President Yang Wanming.

Expressing thanks for the meeting, Yang stated that China and Vietnam are companions in socialist development and partners in reform. He emphasized that the special friendship"both comrades and brothers", cultivated by generations of leaders remains a precious asset for both peoples, with delegation representatives pledging to serve as inheritors and builders of China-Vietnam friendship.

Chinese media and scholars expressed high expectations for NA President Tran Thanh Man’s first visit to China in his current role, anticipating that it will further deepen cooperation between the two legislative bodies and advance broader bilateral relations in a practical manner.
