Addressing the launch ceremony, Dr Nguyen Si Dung, Deputy Director of the Office of the National Assembly, described the site at http://hoidap.quochoi.vn as a tool to help NA deputies implement their mission as representatives, tighten ties between the deputies and voters and promote democracy.

British Ambassador Mark Kent confirmed British willingness to help Vietnam enhance connectivity between the deputies and voters.

The site allows the public to ask National Assembly deputies whatever questions they wish, or join in one of the site’s topics. Deputies will answer these questions directly by posting on the site. Users will be free to post comments on a specific question or answer.

Initially, the site will focus on NA operations in 2010, such as training quality at the tertiary level, food hygiene and safety.

Apart from questions and answers, the site will also include publications and information to help people better understand the National Assembly, and introduce NA deputies.
