The National Assembly Standing Committee met on September 29 to discuss issues related to modifying the Consumer Protection Law.
The meeting presided over by Vice President Nguyen Duc Kien focused on the main contents of the draft law including the rights of consumers in their transactions with independent commercial entities in the current legal system, the state’s responsibilities in this area, the role of social organizations, and mechanisms for settling disputes between consumers and businesses.
The Head of the NA Legal Committee Nguyen Van Thuan said he agreed with the settlement of disputes through negotiation and the need to strictly deal with violations that seriously affect consumers’ health.
