NA Chairman visits southern Indian States

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong flew to Bangalore city, Karnataka State, on February 26, continuing his official visit to India.
He was welcomed at Bangalore Airport by representatives of the State’s Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
He is scheduled to meet with leaders of Karnataka’s parliamentary houses, attend an Indian-Vietnam business forum and visit several industrial centre in Bangalore city on February 27.

Earlier, he visited Bodh Gaya city in Bahir state, where he dropped by Hahabohdi Temple –believed to be the place of Buddha’s attainment of enlightenment.
He also paid a brief visit to a Vietnamese pagoda built by Vietnamese monks in 2003. The pagoda, built on an area of more than 30,000m2, has 9 storeys and is presided over by Superior Monk Thich Huyen Dieu.
Mr Trong praised pagoda monks, nuns and followers for living a good religious life and turning their hearts and minds to the homeland. He affirmed that the Party and State pay special attention to religious practices and create the best possible conditions for people to practise their faith and belief.
