National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong received newly-accredited Mongolian ambassador Palam Sundev in Hanoi on July 13.

During the meeting, NA Chairman Trong highlighted the Vietnam-Mongolia friendship and traditional relations, adding that the Vietnamese people always bear in mind Mongolia’s supports for past struggle for independence and the current process of national construction and development.

He said the two countries are preparing for the 55th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties (November 17).

He said that it is necessary for Vietnam and Mongolia to further boost economic, trade, cultural and educational cooperation and Mr Trong emphasized that his hope that the two countries will coordinate closely in multilateral forums.

He went on to say that Vietnam is willing to create favourable conditions for Mongolia to develop its relation with other ASEAN countries.

On this occasion, Mr Trong also congratulated the Mongolian people on their National Day (July 11), and invited his Mongolian counterpart to pay an official visit to Vietnam in the near future.
