At a reception for Michal Kral, the ambassador of the Czech Republic, Hung praised the outgoing diplomat’s contributions to strengthening relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, as well as between Vietnam and other European Union member countries.
Vietnam attaches great importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with the Czech Republic, Hung told Kral.
Vietnam wants to build an equal, comprehensive and long-term partnership for common development with the European Union, said the legislative chief.
He confirmed that the National Assembly and people of Vietnam will do their utmost to strengthen the time-honoured friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with the Czech Republic.
For his part, Kral noted that relations between the two countries’ legislative bodies have developed well in recent times, and that the Czech Republic is ready to share experience in policymaking and supervision with the Vietnam National Assembly.
He proposed that the two legislative bodies increase the exchange of high-level visits to take full advantage of their cooperation potential in the future.
Receiving French ambassador Jean Francois Girault, NA Chairman Hung expressed elation at the positive developments in Vietnam-France relations in a wide range of areas.
He noted that both countries have great potential for boosting cooperation in economics, trade, investment, education-training, science-technology, and culture, that should be fully exploited in the coming time.
Vietnam considers France a special partner and a gateway to Europe, and it is ready to help France expand cooperation with other countries in Southeast Asia, Hung told his guest.
He expressed his hope that in whatever position that the ambassador will continue to support French relations with Vietnam.
Girault recalled his impression during his stay in Vietnam and affirmed that France-Vietnam relations have been developing well through the implementation of French-funded projects on education, infrastructure construction, aviation, and national defence.
More and more French nationals are coming to work in Vietnam, and French businesses are confident in investing in the Southeast Asian economy, he said.
He suggested that the two parliaments continue exchange visits to share experience, especially between the two countries’ parliamentary groups.
At another reception for Singaporean ambassador Simon Wong Wie Kuen, NA Chairman Hung stressed that Vietnam treasures the special cooperative ties with Singapore, in the interest of the two nations and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
He expressed satisfaction with the growing ties between the two countries and said both sides need to work closely together to effectively implement the already signed cooperation agreements and prepare to lift bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.
Wong said he was impressed by Vietnam’s development achievements during the Renewal process, and affirmed that Vietnam is his second home country.
The diplomat welcomed the agreed principles of building the strategic partnership between the two countries, and said the two parliaments play an important role in speeding up this process.
