The NA Chairman visited Dai Tu district’s Hung Son commune where he studied the implementation of the Party and State’s policies and the results of industrialisation and modernisation.
He also examined the economic restructuring and development of economic sectors, including the form of cooperatives in the commune.

Mr Trong spoke highly of the achievements the local Party organisation and people have made after 18 years of implementing the 1991 Platform, especially since the beginning of the renewal process led by the Party.

Later during the day, the NA Chairman visited the Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company.  He hailed the company’s performances in different stages of development as a mainstay of the country’s steel industry, particularly initial successes after it became a joint-stock company on July 1, 2009.

Despite a big decrease in terms of staff, the Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company reached a record steel output in 2009 and brought an income of VND4 million per capita to workers, he noted.
