NA Chairman concludes Lao visit
National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and his delegation returned to Hanoi on July 5 after successfully concluding their visit to Laos.
While receiving the Vietnamese delegation, the General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and State President Chummaly Sayasone, Prime Minister Thongsing Thamavong and NA Chairwoman Pany Yathotu expressed their delight at the constant development of bilateral relations over the years.
They agreed to strengthen the special relations between the two countries in all fields during the cause of national construction and defence.

NA Chairwoman Pany Yathotu affirmed that the signing of new cooperation agreements between the two legislative bodies shows their strong determination to bring the friendship and cooperation to a higher level.
NA Chairman Hung also emphasized that during the course of national construction and development in each country, Vietnam-Laos relations will be constantly strengthened and developed.
On the occasion, the Lao press widely covered NA Chairman Hung’s visit and the development of Vietnam-Laos special ties.
The Pasason Newspaper, the official mouthpiece of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) said the visit has actively contributed to strengthening the time-honoured friendship founded and fostered by late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and late Lao Presidents Suphanuvong and Kaysone Phomvihan. It described the special relationship as an invaluable asset of the two nations.
Talks between the Lao leaders and Hung and his important speech at the seventh Lao NA had pride of place in both radio and TV programmes.
NA Chairman Hung’s visit was considered a great political event in the Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year of 2012.
