NA begins question session

On the morning of November 23, the National Assembly (NA) began its question session, in two and a half days, with cabinet members including five ministers.

Transport Minister Dinh La Thang is the first cabinet member to answer questions about solutions to reduce traffic accidents and ease traffic congestion in big cities.

He will propose solutions to improve the quality of transport projects and deal with the degradation of some projects in the context of reduction in investment capital from the State budget.

Four other cabinet members including Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan, Minister of Finance Vuong Dinh Hue and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Nguyen Van Binh will join the hearing to clarify issues related to their sectors.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will be the last one to take the floor on November 25 to answer other questions and clarify some issues.

The NA question time is focused on hot social issues such as economic restructuring, poverty reduction, solutions to ease traffic congestion, investment policies for agriculture and rural development, solutions to lesson the negative impact of climate change and natural disasters and price management based on the market mechanisms.

Other issues include reducing budget overspending; public debts; ensuring financial security, restructuring the banking system; stabilizing the monetary market; improving the quality of education and training; establishing and upgrading universities, colleges and dealing with private tuitions and the shortage of kindergartens in the country.
