NA approves six deputy PMs and cabinet members
VOV.VN - The National Assembly of Vietnam on April 8 approved a resolution on the structure and number of Government members for the new term, following a proposal presented by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung at its first session.
After the resolution was adopted, the National Assembly approved the Prime Minister’s nominations for Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers and other members of the Government.
Six deputy PMs were approved, namely Pham Gia Tuc, Phan Van Giang, Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Ho Quoc Dung, Nguyen Van Thang and Le Tien Chau.
The National Assembly also approved other members of the Government, including Phan Van Giang, who serves concurrently as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Do Thanh Binh, Minister of Home Affairs; Hoang Thanh Tung, Minister of Justice; Ngo Van Tuan, Minister of Finance; Le Manh Hung, Minister of Industry and Trade; Trinh Viet Hung, Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Construction; Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vu Hai Quan, Minister of Science and Technology; Hoang Minh Son, Minister of Education and Training; Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Health; Nguyen Dinh Khang, Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs; Pham Duc An, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Nguyen Quoc Doan, Government Inspector General; and Dang Xuan Phong, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office.
The new term Government includes five members of the Politburo: Prime Minister Le Minh Hung; Deputy Prime Ministers Phan Van Giang and Pham Gia Tuc; Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang; and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung. It also includes one member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) Secretariat, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, and 17 members of the Party Central Committee.
