The National Assembly Standing Committee will continue to question a number of Cabinet ministers on pressing issues of public concern at its 22nd session, starting on August 11.

During their five-day sitting, law-makers will look at a proposal made by the Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, regarding the separation of the Civil Court into Civil Court 1 and 2 under the Supreme People’s Court. They will also consider whether or not to recruit more inspectors and investigators for grassroots-level Inspectorates in 2009 and 2010.

They will debate overseeing reports on the management and use of capital and assets by State-owned economic groups and corporations.

In addition, the law-makers will examine a number of bills, including those on telecommunications, radio frequencies, medical check-ups, education and trade arbitration.
