Vietnam and Laos will build and plant national border marker number 281 at the Ten Tan-Xom Vang border gate and many other markers along the common border between Thanh Hoa and Houaphan provinces.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 15 with the consent of the Vietnam-Laos Joint Committee for Border Marking.
The two provinces of Thanh Hoa and Houaphan will build a total of 26 new border markers and refurbish the existing ones in their areas, turning the border into one of peace and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
Thanh Hoa and Houaphan provinces share 192km of borderline with three border gates at Na Meo-Nam Xoi, Ban Kheo- Tha Lau and Ten Tan-Xom Vang.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister decided to upgrade the Ten Tan-Xom Vang border gate in 2007.
