FM spokeswoman Nguyen Phuong Nga made this statement on May 17 in reply to reporters’ questions about the case of three Vietnamese seafarers on the Taiwanese fishing vessel hijacked recently by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean.

She said that the ministry has instructed the Vietnamese embassy in Nigeria and Somalia to soon find out and if that is true, the embassy should collaborate with regional countries and international relevant forces to carry out solutions to soon rescue the Vietnamese seafarers on the vessel.
