Meeting marks National Day in Russia
The Vietnamese embassy in Russia held a banquet in Moscow on August 22 to mark Vietnam's National Day (September 2).
Representatives from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defence and other departments attended the event, along with ambassadors from ASEAN countries, representatives of Vietnamese associations in Russia, overseas Vietnamese and international friends.
Ambassador Pham Xuan Son highlighted the historic meaning of Vietnam’s August 1945 Revolution and National Day, as well as the former Soviet Union’s Great Patriotic War. He emphasized that the relationship between the two countries has developed well in the spirit of their strategic partnership.

Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Morgulov praised Vietnam’s achievements in recent years, and said he believes that the bilateral cooperative ties between Russia and Vietnam will see new economic and trade breakthroughs in the future.
He stressed that Vietnam is a priority in Russia's external policies in the Asia-Pacific region. Developing a comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam meets mutual needs and benefits both sides. The country serves as an important bridge for Russia to boost ties with other countries in Southeast Asia.
