Over the past 10 years, the National Defence Institute has run 32 training courses for nearly 2,000 senior officers and conducted many scientific research projects on military, national defence and security issues.
Mr Manh praised the institute for its significant achievements and contributions to national development over the years.
Analysing the local and world situation, Mr Manh warned of an increase in subversive activities against Vietnam, including the “peaceful evolution” campaign. He said that foreign enemies use democracy and human rights as a pretext to intervene in the country’s internal affairs and justification for breaking the law.
They are factors behind the country’s socio-political instability that we cannot underestimate, said Mr Manh.
He underlined the need to maintain a peaceful and stable society and a strong national security to help the country move forward and narrow the development gap with other countries.
The Party leader said he believes the institute will continue to train qualified senior officers for the army and be the leading military research centre of the nation.
