While receiving Vietnamese ambassador to Poland and Latvia Nguyen Hoang on July 26, President Grybauskaite expressed her admiration for the Vietnamese people’s extraordinary efforts in their past struggle for national independence and unification, as well as the important achievements in the current Renewal process.

She also praised Vietnam’s increasing role in the region and the world, especially in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) and other international organizations.

She acknowledged the Vietnamese expatriates’ contributions to Lithuania and said the Lithuanian administration will continue to provide assistance to the community in their studies and business.
