Vietnam and Australia will broaden cooperative activities to support Agent Orange/dioxin (AO) victims, disadvantaged families and needy children in Vietnam.

Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan made the suggestion in Hanoi on July 19 while receiving with a delegation from the Australia-Vietnam Friendship Association (AVNFA) led by its President Paul Noak. 

The two countries will continue to cooperate in other fields such as trade, investment and science and technology, aiming to contribute to promote their common development, the State leader said. 

Doan thanked the Australian people for their enthusiastic assistance to Vietnamese people during the anti-American resistance war. 

She said that Vietnam-Australia relations have been brought to a new height with effective cooperation in economics, politics, culture, education and other fields. 

On his part, Paul Noak affirmed that he will do all he can to promote friendly relations between the two countries’ people, and organise more activities to raise funds for Vietnamese AO victims. 

He said that AVNFA will soon hold its Congress and continue to strengthen the Association’s operational structure.
