The tenth session of the National Assembly Standing Committee, which opened in Hanoi on August 13, will focus on question time with the Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, the Government Inspector General and the Governor of the State Bank.

Regarding legislative activities, the lawmakers will contribute their ideas to revisions and amendments to the 1992 Constitution to be debated at the year-end session of the NA.

They will also give opinions on several bills including the amended laws on lawyers, cooperatives, electricity, tax management, and the national reserves.

They will discuss draft laws on preventing and mitigating natural disasters, grassroots-level reconciliation, preventing and controlling terrorism, and national defence and security education.

The NA Standing Committee approved the establishment of an Emulation Department under the Supreme People’s Court on the morning of August 13.
