Late Vietnamese President's memorial unveiled in Laos

(VOV) -  Khammouan province and Kaysone Phomvihane Museum inaugurated a memorial complex to President Ho Chi Minh in Xiangvang village, Nongbouk district, on December 7.

The ceremony’s luminaries included Lao Vice State President Bounnhang Vorachith, Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Hung, Kaysone Phomvihane Museum and Ho Chi Minh Museum representatives, as well as diplomats and officials.

Khammouan Deputy Governor Khamsay Damlath and Kaysone Phomvihane Museum Director Souvandi Si Savath recounted President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary achievements, praising the significance of his contributions to founding and nurturing the special bilateral relationship still existing today.

NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong emphasised the significance of the memorial complex’s construction, describing it as one of the key projects welcoming the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year in 2013.

The 1.5 hectare facility will help Laotians and international friends understand more about President Ho’s revolutionary activities, his contributions to the general international proletarian revolution, and the revolutionary causes of the two countries in particular, she said.
