Laos welcomes Vietnamese businesses, says PM
The Government of Laos creates the best possible conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest in the country which benefit both sides, says Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong.
PM Thammavong reconfirmed the commitment at a reception hosted by his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung in Binh Dinh province on February 26.

PM Thammavong led a Lao delegation on a fact-finding tour of the Central Highland provinces of Gia Lai and Kon Tum, as well as Binh Dinh province in central Vietnam from February 23-26.
He highly valued the success of poverty reduction projects in these localities, resulting from the Party’s firm leadership, timely instructions from local administrations and active participation from all sectors, the business community and the public.
This is valuable experience for Laos to study when implementing its socio-economic development programs, said Thammavong.
For his part, PM Dung said the government of Vietnam encourages its businesses to invest in Laos to develop their production and contribute to social welfare in the country.
The two countries need to devise measures to assist each other and promote comprehensive cooperation in all areas for mutual development, said Mr Dung.
Both Prime Ministers shared the view that Vietnam and Laos should increase reciprocal visits to iron out snags and effectively implement signed agreements, especially in 2012 when the two countries celebrate the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year.
