The ceremony took place in Hanoi on December 14.

The Lieutenant General and Deputy Minister of Defence, Nguyen Chi Vinh, thanked the Lao Party, State and Government for the honour. The Vietnamese soldiers were awarded for the contributions they made during Laos’ struggle for independence.

Awarding the Vietnamese soldiers is the proof of the special relation between the two countries with a long tradition.

The Vietnamese Army pledged to do its best for the Lao stability and development, the Deputy Minister added.
