At the meeting, Volachit, who is also a Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Laos Central Committee’s Secretariat, expressed his belief that the visit will open up new prospects for cooperation between Bac Kan and Lao provinces.

For his part, Kinh thanked Volachit for giving his delegation a warm welcome and briefed his host on the outcomes of the meetings with the Lao Ministry of Energy and Mining, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and National Administration of Tourism.

Both countries have a lot of potential for working together in mining, tourism, forestry, poverty reduction and eradicating hunger as both have many things in common, Kinh said.
