Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh on July 23 received a high-level delegation from Hanoi led by Nguyen The Thao, member of the Party Central Committee, and chairman of the municipal People’s Committee.
PM Bouphavanh welcomed the delegation’s visit, describing it as a vivid proof of the comprehensive cooperation between the two capitals, thus contributing to strengthening the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam.
He thanked Hanoi’s Party Committee and administration for supporting Vientiane capital city and Luang Prabang city in many areas, especially education. He said he believes that the two sides will promote cooperation in trade, investment and tourism in the spirit of special solidarity.
The Lao PM said his government will create favourable conditions for Lao businesses to expand links with their counterparts in Hanoi and Vietnam as well.
During their visit from July 22-25, the Hanoi delegation held talks with Vientiane’s high-level delegation led by Sombath Yialiheu, Secretary of Vientiane’s Party Committee and Mayor of the capital.
