According to newspaper Passason of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Vietnam’s State President Nguyen Minh Triet’s visit to Laos is a historical landmark, helping strengthen traditional friendship relations between the two countries.
Most major dailies in Laos on February 5 ran editorials on front pages about Vietnam’s State President Nguyen Minh Triet’s official visit to the country at the invitation of Lao President Choummaly Sayasone.
The Lao People’s Revolutionary Party newspaper Pasason wrote that Lao people are honoured by the visit of Mr Triet - a close friend of Laos, who brought with him special friendship and solidarity from the Vietnamese people to Laos.
The article added that Laos and Vietnam are close neighbours that have long-standing historical relations, especially in struggles for national independence. The two countries have helped each other in all fields. The relations of friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is a decisive factor for success of the two nations.
The paper emphasized that the State President Triet’s visit to Laos is a historical mark, helping strengthen traditional friendship relations between the two countries.
Lao Television on February 5 also broadcast a report on special relations between the two countries through various periods.
