Pasason, an official newspaper of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee, ran an article on May 18 praising late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh’s highly moral life and his struggle for national independence.

The article, entitled “Learning from the morals and political career of President Ho Chi Minh”, said that Ho Chi Minh had played a significant role in the national and international struggle for independence and freedom.

President Ho was the first to lay the foundations for the Indochinese Communist Party, the predecessor of today's Communist Party of Vietnam and the LPRP, the daily said.

The paper went on to say that President Ho had possessed a boundlessly humane character which was reflected through his lifelong devotion to the revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people and the people of the world in general.

The Lao people are honoured to continue cooperating with the Vietnamese people, following President Ho’s strategy of international cooperation, and to bolster the traditional relationship between the two countries, Pasason concluded.
