The article said the agreement helped raise the Vietnam-Laos special relationship to new heights and boost the all-round cooperation for mutual benefit.

It stressed that Vietnam and Laos are close friends and their traditional relationship has has been established and fostered by both countries’ generations who stood shoulder to shoulder to fight against their enemies and obtain national independence and freedom.

The newspaper noted that at present, the two countries are doing their best to cement their ties and assist each other. Vietnam continues to give Laos preferential conditions in transshipments, using its seaports. It is always willing to support Laos in many key sectors including trade, investment, power generation, staff training, health care and sports.

The spiritual and material assistance has expanded the comprehensive cooperation, facilitating national defence and development in their respective countries, the paper concluded.
