• Son La to host Vietnam-Laos legislative conference

Luu welcomed Yathotu to the meeting to be held in Son La province where late Lao President Kaysone Phomvihane took part in revolutionary activities during his lifetime.

The conference is of great importance to further strengthening cooperative relations between the two countries and legislatures, said Luu.

He said the event takes place at a time when both countries are jointly organising activities within the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2012 and to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the 35^th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

Yathotu expressed her belief that the two legislatures will organise the conference successfully to contribute to promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
