Defence Minister General Phung Quang Thanh on March 12 worked with Major General Douang Chai,  the Lao Minister of Defence cum Deputy Prime Minister, in Hanoi.

During their talks, both generals said they believe that this visit will contribute to boosting the traditional solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two armies and peoples.

They reviewed bilateral army cooperation over the years and agreed to strengthen ties in all fields including boosting exchanges of delegations, sharing experiences, and working together to search for and repatriate the remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts.

They also briefed each other on their respective countries’ political, social, and economic situations, and discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern.

During his two-day stay in Vietnam, General Douang Chai and his entourage will visit Danang city and work with Regiment 143 under Division 315 of Military Zone 5 and the Naval High Command Zone 3.
