During his visit, Lieutenant General Phichit, who is also Lao Deputy Prime Minister, and his delegation, held talks with General Phung Quang Thanh and senior officials from the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence.

The two sides discussed international and regional issues, as well as national concerns and reviewed the results of cooperation between the two armies in recent years.

They agreed to strengthen cooperation in various fields by promoting exchanges between visiting delegations and experiences in political and ideological education for military officials.

They also vowed closer coordination in searching for and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese soldiers and military experts fallen in Laos during war time.
