It is essential to have a land preservation fund in a long-term zoning plan to carry out projects for healthcare, education, trade and services, said Minister of Construction Nguyen Hong Quan.

On June 15, National Assembly (NA) deputies gave their opinions on Hanoi’s zoning plan until 2020 with a vision for 2050.

According a supplementary report on a plan to move administrative areas in Hanoi to Bavi, Ba vi is a planned location for the building of some Government offices under a vision for 2050.

NA Deputy Nguyen Thanh Vang from Binh Dinh agreed upon the development of satellite urban areas and stressed the need to place the construction in line with transport infrastructure system.

NA Deputy Nguyen Ngoc Dao from Hanoi said that the projects to build five satellite urban areas and other townships in rural areas are feasible because the chain of new urban areas will help to relocate a number of people from the inner city to outlying areas.

The implementation of new projects to ease traffic jams and reduce population pressure conforms to the country’s common development.

NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Kien said that most NA deputies agreed on Hanoi’s zoning plan which aims to develop Hanoi into a large and more modern city inline with the national development.
