President Truong Tan Sang on December 22 presided over the third meeting of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform in Hanoi.
Participants in the meeting discussed two projects related to reforms of criminal procedure and shifting the People's Procuracy to the public prosecutor's office.
Delegates heard a representative from the Supreme People's Procuracy speak about the progress being made in finalising the two projects. Members voiced their opinions over the need to clarify the rights and responsibilities between the investigation office and the People's Procuracy, and the need for a legal framework to oversee criminal judiciary activities.
President Sang asked the Supreme People's Procuracy representatives to study the opinions and continue working on the two projects, which will soon be submitted to the national steering committee.
