Both the Japan Times and the Yomiuri newspapers included the Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh’s article on the strategic ties between Vietnam and Japan. They also published photos of meetings between General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and Japanese Emperor Akihito in Tokyo as part of the Communist Party of Vietnam Chief’s official visit to Japan in April last year.

The Japan Times published a feature on Vietnam’s strategic position in Asia in terms of infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the NHK Television broadcast a number of reports on Vietnam’s activities to celebrate its National Day. The Jiji news agency and the Sankei daily ran an interview with Ambassador Nguyen Phu Binh on nuclear electric power and expressway projects in Vietnam.
