At the seminar, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong said that President Ho Chi Minh was an eminent leader of genius and a great teacher in the Vietnamese revolution. He was also a resilient revolutionary soldier and a close friend of international nations. He left valuable heritage that is known today as Ho Chi Minh thought, and moral example.
Today, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the nation has consistently followed Marxism and Leninism as well as Ho Chi Minh thought and promoted Ho Chi Minh heritage to step up the process of renewal, industrialisation, modernisation and international integration.
Katherine Muller Marin, head of the UNESCO Office in Vietnam highlighted President Ho Chi Minh’s contribution to its activities, such as cultural promotion, preservation of cultural heritage, communications, gender equality, and environmental and forest protection. She emphasised that Ho Chi Minh as a poet paid great attention to protecting and preserving heritage as well as restoring many traditional art forms. He also cared for women. In his testament, he wrote that the Party and State should have plans to ensure that more women take part in all activities.
The two-day seminar is discussing new awareness of Ho Chi Minh legacy.
