Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Dora on July 22 as part of the 28thASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) in Lam Dong province.

Prime Minister Dung praised the Indian Minister for his contributions to the Meeting’s success and expressed his pleasure at the development of the relations between the two countries in the fields of politics, foreign affairs, economics, culture, education and their close cooperation in multilateral forums.

Mr. Dung urged Indian enterprises to expand their investment and join ventures in Vietnam especially in the field of energy. He also invited the Indian Prime Minister to pay an official visit to Vietnam and attend the ASEAN summit in Hanoi in October.

For his part, the Indian Minister hailed the positive results of the Meeting and expressed his hope that the two countries will cooperate more closely in the field of energy and petroleum. He said that Indian businesses want to invest in Vietnam’s power and steel industries.
