India wishes to promote its comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, said Indian President Pratibha Patil.
President Patil made the statement while receiving the newly-accredited Vietnamese Ambassador to India, Nguyen Thanh Tan, who presented his credentials on September 29.
The president said she believed that the ambassador, who had once worked in India, would make the best of his experiences to further develop the relationship between the two nations.
Tan pledged to do his utmost to step up the bilateral strategic partnership and asked the Indian government to create favourable conditions for him to accomplish his tasks.
