The Central Commission for Communication and Education met in Hanoi on August 1 to mark the sector’s 81st anniversary.

Addressing the meeting, Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), affirmed that the communication and education sector has taken the lead in Party activities during the revolutionary periods and has strived to fulfill all its tasks assigned by the Party.

Mr Huynh emphasized that the sector will continue to make greater efforts to fully tap its advantages and overcome any shortcomings.

He added that it should also closely monitor global and regional situations,  consult directly with the PCC, and report to the Political Bureau and Secretariat on issues such as the path to socialism in Vietnam, scientific and technological developments, and building a socialist law-governed State of the people, by the people and for the people. He also said it is important to make major changes in education and training and establish Vietnamese culture as the spiritual foundation of society.

The trade union of the Central Commission for Communication and Education also launched a campaign at the meeting to honour outstanding civil servants and trade union members.
