The Party leader made this request while working with authorities in the northern mountain province on November 12.

Mr Trong highlighted the province’s achievements in implementing the 11th National Party Congress resolution.

Hoa Binh has upheld its tradition, ironed out snags and maintained high economic growth, while developing production, improving  living standards and gaining people’s trust in the Party’s renewal process, he said.

He also pointed out important issues related to Party building, implementing Resolution 26 on agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, and maintaining social security in the province.

Local authorities asked the Party to allow Da Bac and Lac Son districts to be included in the Government’s 30A program on poverty reduction and allocate more capital for the province to boost production, upgrade roads, irrigation works, and schools.

Regarding the implementation of the 11th National Party Congress' Resolution, Hoa Binh has established an action program which clarifies its goals and measures to carry out the three strategic breakthroughs with a focus on planning and building infrastructure for socio-economic development, attracting investment, and developing human resources.

The province’s economic growth reached 9.8 percent in the first 11 months of 2011 and the number of poor households has been reduced by 30 percent.
