The remark was made by the Nhan dan (People’s) newspaper, the official organ of the CPV, in its editorial on May 19 in celebration of the 121st birthday of Uncle Ho and the 100th anniversary of his departure to the world to seek ways to national salvation (June 5, 1911-2011).
President Ho Chi Minh devoted all of his life to the cause of national liberation and construction, the editorial said, adding that realising his sacred testament, the CPV has upheld its political stand for national independence and socialism, and considered Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s thought as the foundation and guidelines for its action.
The editorial called on all cadres, Party members and people of all strata to grasp the contents of all documents presented at the 11th National Party Congress, regularly study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, and strive for the goal of a strong country with healthy people and a democratic, fair and civilised society.
Other major newspapers in the country such as the Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People’s Army), the Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) and the Saigon Giai Phong (Liberated Saigon) run editorials and articles affirming the whole people’s commitment to following Uncle Ho’s path to make Vietnam more prosperous and beautiful as he had recommended.
