Ho Chi Minh City wants to further cooperate and exchange with New Zealand in the field of education and training as well as human resource development to serve the city’s development demand.

Chairman Le Hoang Quan of the municipal People’s Committee made the statement while receiving visiting New Zealand Prime Minister John Key on October 28.

The cooperative relations between Vietnam and New Zealand in trade, investment and education have increased considerably since the two countries established their diplomatic ties 35 years ago, he said.

However, there remains largely untapped cooperative potential, the mayor added.

New Zealand and Vietnam enjoy the benefit of cooperative ties, said PM Key, Vietnam’s abundant young population is a promising factor for the strong development of the all-around cooperation between the two countries.

The New Zealand PM hoped that New Zealand will strengthen its cooperation with Vietnam not only in economics but also in education, training, food processing, tourism and other fields.
