Hanoi, Moscow desire stronger anti-corruption cooperation
VOV.VN - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu and Alexander Anikin, Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Department under the Russian President, expressed a desire for stronger anti-corruption cooperation between Vietnam and Moscow at their meeting in Hanoi on February 19.
During the meeting, Suu hailed the sound traditional relations in a wide range of fields between Vietnam and Russia, saying both nations are pushing forward with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2020.
He also briefed the guest on the capital city’s socio-economic development, saying Hanoi is in the process of urbanization, improving its transport infrastructure and management capacity.
Hanoi is stepping up anti-corruption efforts and comply with the law, he said, adding that nearly 400 corruption inspection cases are conducted in the city every year.
Anikin, in turn, affirmed his nation’s willingness to support Hanoi in this regard while voicing his confidence that the sound long-standing relations between Vietnam and Russia will create a premise for Hanoi and Moscow to further anti-corruption cooperation in the time to come.
