The event aimed to gather opinions from people across the country on enhancing the Party’s leading role in society and national development.
It also helped to step up the movement to learn and follow Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.
After 6 months, the organising board had received 40,000 entries from provinces across the country, overseas Vietnamese and foreigners who work and study in Vietnam.
Most of the entries were focused on reviewing the Party’s achievements during the process of national construction and introducing outstanding individuals and organsiations that have made an active contribution to the country.
Some of them also point out some urgent problems that need to be solved such as bureaucratic and corruption cases discovered among a number of Party members.
They also suggested solutions to improve the capacity of leaders and the leading role of the Party in specific aspects of society.
The contest was a free and democratic forum for people to air their feelings, responsibilities and love for the Party and the State serving as part of preparations for the coming 11th National Party Congress.
Phung Huu Phu, a member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Head of its Commission for Information and Education, said the contest’s success was put down to co-coordinated efforts by related agencies and departments and enthusiastic response by people both at home and abroad.
