Hanoi celebrates 70th anniversary of Vietnam-Romania diplomatic relations

VOV.VN - The 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Romania (1950-2020), and Romania’s 102nd Great Union Day (National Day) (December 1) were celebrated at a meeting held by the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association in Hanoi on November 29.

Upon addressing the meeting, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga highlighted the time-honoured friendship and cooperation between the two nations which have been strengthened incessantly and progressed in a multitude of fields.

Besides the bilateral cooperation, both sides have boosted closer coordination and offer mutual support at multilateral organizations and forums, and combined efforts to deal with global issues.

The VUFO leader expressed her confidence in a bright outlook of the traditional friendship as well as all-around cooperation between Vietnam and Romania in the time to come.

Nga hailed diverse and effective cooperation between the two nations, while recalling Romania’s valuable support to Vietnam in the past struggles for national independence.

She also touched upon the operation of the association, with more than VND500 million (US$21,600) mobilized to support Romania’s COVID-19 fight.

Petrescu Razvan Victor Radu, Consul General of the Romanian Embassy in Vietnam, conveyed the message of Mihaela Rutjens, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy, in which she thanked members of the association for their efforts to foster the bilateral relationship over the past years.
