Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has urged the northern province of Ha Nam to make a breakthrough by applying scientific and technological achievements to improve the efficiency of production, business and environmental protection.

At a working session with provincial authorities on February 9, Nhan applauded them for creating favourable conditions for businesses and asked the northern provinces of Ninh Binh and Ha Nam, as well as the capital city of Hanoi to integrate their cultural heritage sites into a tourism network to attract more domestic and foreign visitors.

He instructed Ha Nam and other localities to deal firmly with the pollution in the Nhue and Day rivers.

The provincial People’s Committee proposed the government and relevant ministries provide funding for the province to implement key projects on developing human resources and supporting agricultural production.

The province also asked for the government’s approval of the tourism project in Tam Chuc-Ba Sao, one of the nation’s key tourism sites, and an increase in tourism infrastructure investment for the 2012-2015 period.
